Planning:
- Pick your destination
- Create an itinerary and a “must see” list
- Buy health and travel insurance
- Passport (don’t forget to check the expiry date, and remember that some countries won’t allow you to enter if your passport is expiring in 30, 60 or 90 days regardless of how long you intend to stay)
- Check to see if you need a Visa and begin the Visa process
- Compare flights to find the best price
Currency:
- Make your budget
- Decide which currencies you need and familiarize yourself with them
- Pick up or order (in advance) local currency from Continental Currency Exchange and request a FREE copy of your currency equivalency chart – handy for quick currency conversions to track your spending

Preparation:
- Make sure that all proper forms are filled out (Visa, Tourist card)
- Bring all documentation for children
- Make sure your immunizations are up-to-date
Bring:
- Medications, extra pair of glasses
- Basic first aid kit
- Copies of prescriptions for medication and eyewear (in case lost or stolen)
- Address and directions to the Canadian Embassy in order to register with the Canadian Government Office
- International Drivers License (if needed)
- Knowledge of the local language (commonly asked questions and phrases)
Last minute:
- Leave a copy of your itinerary and hotel information with someone at home (in case of emergency)
- Flight preparation (double check information, arrive early, and familiarize yourself with the latest security restrictions to ensure you make it to your flight on time)
- Leave a copy of your passport at home or with a friend or family member
- Remember your Entry Visas and departure tax (if applicable)
